This is our first draft of the script for the Nightingale piece of our news production. There will be changes and tweaks made to it either for when we get more information (i.e. names of presenters, filming the interviews etc.).

Digital News Production (Planning 7)
I have sent an email to the company planning to build on the Nightingale site in Lodge Hill, Land Securities. They did not have an actual email address to contact but they had a comment section on their website as well as a phone number. Bellow is what I wrote to them which I was limited to due to a character limit. But during the next couple of days I will phone Land Securities to see if I can get a response from them.

Digital News Production (Planning 6)
Today, our group have met up to discuss what we are going to do about our news production. Basically planning what we are aiming to achieve with our production, setting dates and contacting those who we would like to interview for our stories.
The first action we took was to contact Hugh Lowe Farms, the main subject of our soft news piece. We have called them up to discuss the possibility of doing the story on them and their farm. We have called them up but had to leave a message as their general manager was not available to speak to. We are also going to send an email to him to double the chances of getting a reply back sooner than if we just leave a phone message.

Digital News Production (Planning 5)
We have found our second story for our news production. The story is going to be based on Hugh Lowe Farm located on the outskirts of Maidstone, and their award winning Strawberries. Hugh Lowe Farm have recently won the Taste of Kent award in the Soft Fruit category and our group feels that it would make a good story for our news production. We believe this because it ties in well to the category of news we are aiming to report on and that we can make a good news story out of it. This is not a hard hitting news story, but it can be classed as a soft news piece, which will be a nice balance compared to our other story about the planning of building at the Nightingale sanctuary.
