'The Meeting' Ideas/thoughts 4

I have finished my script, and I am happy with my outcome. It needs some improvements and tweaks but for a outline of my story it works well. For my script, I've been looking at the use of flashbacks to tell a story as it is a unique interesting way to tell a story. I also thought it was a good technique to use for hooking the audiences attention. I have looked at 'Momento' the film as the whole story is shown back to front yet it still follows the the three act system of storytelling; goal, problem and change. It can be hard to follow in some parts but it has the potential to tell the story in a creative and contemporary way. But I have also looked into other mediums of storytelling such as books and video games.
The large majority of video games produced nowadays have stories within them, games such as the 'Final Fantasy' franchise, the 'Grand Theft Auto' series and even the 'Call of Duty' games, most people play 'Call of Duty' for the online gameplay but it still has a story mode within the offline play. A new game out recently released called 'Beyond: Two Souls' is a story based game which tells the story through a series of flashbacks. The game is made by developers 'Quantic Dream' who have made successful story telling games in the past such as 'Fahrenheit' and 'Heavy Rain' and this new game has already gained many praise from the gaming world. The game also includes voice acting performed by noted actors Willem Defoe and Ellen Page and has music composed by Hans Zimmer who has composed music for many successful films.
'Beyond:Two Souls' is about a girl that has had a poltergeist like soul tied to her since birth, which works like a super hero ability as the soul protects and helps her, as well as her being able to command the entity. 'Beyond:Two Souls' like 'Momento' tells the story not in chronological order, yet the audience can still follow the story and understand what is happening. For example, there could be a mission (which works in the same way like a scene does in a film/tv show) where you are the girl at a young age, then in the next mission you could be playing as her when she is older and further along to the end of the story, even if it is one of the early missions. This technique of story telling is very useful as it is an aid in keeping the audiences attention to the game and it can be used for giving to story more drama or it can create some comic relief to the story.
With my story I am telling it the story in order, but I am focusing on the way 'Momento' and 'Beyond:Two Souls' have used flashbacks in telling a tale. I am going to use this to tell parts, of the story as well as aiding the story to move further along by adding on to detail and helping characters development.
