I have nearly finished creating my trailer for my version of 'The Meeting', all I need to do now is double check it all looking out for errors and bugs to correct and if there is anything else I can add to it.
While making my trailer, I discovered how to use of some of the correction effects to give more emotion and feeling to my footage. I found out that the use of the stabiliser function can create a unique effect on the footage. It creates an abstract hazy effect which works well with some of my footage as it reflects the theme of my overall story and will also show the audience what to expect from my story. I did not want it to be too over the top with effects, I wanted to have the effects applied subtly so it doesn't take anything away from the footage quality and clarity. This effect also steadies my footage and makes it appear more professional. This link shows what the stabilising effect can do if used correctly.

'The Meeting' Ideas/Thoughts 9
I've recently watched a film called 'The Life of Pi' and it got me thinking about the purpose of the twist in my film.
'The Life of Pi' is about a young Indian man who survives a boat sinking, and wakes up on a boat with animals on it. The animals start to kill each other and it's just Pi and a Tiger left in the middle of the ocean stuck on this boat. The twist is revealed near the end of the film where investigators talk to Pi about the boat sinking. The twist in 'The Life of Pi' is that the animals could possibly resemble people. There is a tiger, a monkey, a hyena and a zebra, the twist is that the monkey is his mother, the hyena is a cook who is a horrible man who kills the zebra and the monkey. The zebra is a sailor who is injured and is the first to be killed on the boat. The tiger is Pi's anger and insanity which is inside of him. He is constantly fighting his insanity throughout the film but it is shown as him fighting and trying to tame a tiger.
The purpose of the twist in this film is that the audience enjoyed seeing Pi survive on the boat with a tiger more than what actually happened. The film would be pretty boring if what showed what actually happened. The twist conveys a powerful message which is about personal preference and the difference in what is the truth and what is not. Sometimes we see something differently than what it really is because it suits us, even if it isn't the truth.
With this in mind I have looked at my film and looked at if there is a meaning within it and I can not find one. But if I wanted a meaning I would have based the story around it, I could find a meaning but it wasn't the purpose of the story, I just wanted to make an entertaining story. My twist doesn't need to have a meaning or purpose like the one in 'The Life of Pi' as long as it shocks and surprises the audience that is all that matters.
