Fiction Adaption (Audition 5 - David Sandham)
Another audition for the role of the sexual predator was David Sandham. David did fit what I had planned the character to look like well, but his previous work was mainly theatre productions for children. This did concern me a bit but I did offer him an audition anyway. During the audition he came across very well and he understood what I was expecting from the role. I also mentioned about my concerns with the work he has been doing mainly being aimed at children, but he said that he is a trained actor and assured me he could pull off a good performance for the role. For the audition I gave him the same exercise I gave Elodie, which was to say a phrase in an assortment of different ways to see how he could perform emotions. I asked him to perform a simple phrase in an angry, scared, arrogant and sexual. His performance was good, he showed enough visual emotion to make the performance believable and showed what the characters personality was like also.
Fiction Adaption (Audition 4 - Scarlett Marshall)
Another applicant for the role of the main female character was Scarlett Marshall. She visually fitted what I was planning the main character to look like and her showreel was very impressive, but the only problem was that I mentioned I would cover travelling costs, but she lives in Sheffield. I will happily cover travelling costs but the amount it would cost me to get her down from Sheffield would be way over what I could afford, so I have decided not to offer her an interview.
Fiction Adaption (Audition 3 - David Wayman)
An applicant for the role of the sexual predator was David Wayman. I was very excited when he applied for the role as he fitted in perfectly to what I was looking for. I judged this by looking at his showreel and also some of the reviews he got for previous performances he had done in films. I did call him up for an audition on a couple of occasions but could not get through to him, I left a message as well as for him but I had no reply. So with this in mind I could not audition him and I will not be offering him an audition for the role. Will post more about my other applicants.
Digital News Production (Filming 2 - Green Screen Presenting)
We have filmed our presenting footage for our news production with the use of green screen. Our idea was to have either a set behind her or if this is not possible we are planning on having a nature themed background. The audio was crisp and clear when we recorded it, but our visuals were not up to scratch. When in post production we discovered our lighting was not okay, and when taking out the background there was a visibly noticeable border around her. We are planning to reshoot this footage tomorrow.
Fiction Adaption (Audition 2 - Elodie Foray)
I had an audition with Elodie and it went very well. She was the right type of build for the role and also she had an interest with what I wanted to do with the poem. Her audition went very well also because of her performance of an exercise I gave her to do. Because the role I was looking for was not a speaking role I wanted to see how she performed saying a simple phrase in different ways emotionally. So I told her to say the phrase in a happy, sinister and fearful manner. This got me to see how she could perform these emotions when acting in my film.
