'The Meeting' Ideas/thoughts

Just watching 'Love Actually' at home, great film about people meeting and a clear representation of the goal, problem, change system. Even though my story is going to be a thriller, this rom-com has helped me with my idea for 'The Meeting'. It has helped me with ideas for how to have unexpected twists and outcomes of two people meeting. I am going to look into all the possible outcomes my story could have as well as all the possible events of climax it could have. I have decided to do this research because at the moment my story is very predictable and too simple to grab the audiences attention. I do want it to be a simple story so it's easy for the audience to follow it, but not too simple to bore and not grab the attention of the audience.
I want to find different ways of having twists and turns in the story because I want to keep the audiences attention throughout. 'Love Actually' does this well in my opinion because with all the different stories in the film, in some of them you find out more information the further you get through it. As well as keeping the audiences attention, it also puts the audience in the characters shoes possibly as you could be finding out information the same time as the character is.
