Major Pre-Production Development and Research: Naming our Film

Mark and I spent some time thinking of a suitable title for our film. It was important that the name was rememberable and related to the film. For example the film 'Inception' is named so as the act of inception is present within the film and is one of the main aspects of it. It is important for the name to be eye catching as well as the title is one of the first things people will know about the film, so it has to be rememberable and exciting as well.

After researching and coming up with many ideas, I came up with the title 'Inoculum'. Inoculum is the substance used when someone is inoculated (the liquid used in the syringe). We decided to go with this title because it relates to the plot of our film, as the character Abigail is inoculated with a cure for her illness, thus making it suitable for a title. Another reason we went with 'Inoculum' is as the word itself stands out due to it being an uncommonly used word.  The word also comes across as powerful and strong as well, which you could relate to the strong emotional themes within the film. Below is some more information on the word Inoculum such as the definition, the origins of the word and a graph showing the use of the word over the past 200 years.
