I have been thinking about my plot some more recently. I have looked at my initial story idea and I still feel that it might offend people. Some films and television programmes can cause controversy with some of its content, these types of content could be murder, drugs, violence and or sex. But the controversial content mine includes is rape, and that can affect people personally more than the other content types I have mentioned.
I have finally found a full proof way to combat this, which is that when you witness all the murders on screen, it will all be just a dream that the main character had. This will be shown clearly on screen so there will not be any confusion with the audience understanding what is happening. Even though this story has such a cliche that has been over used, both well and bad, I feel that it has a good purpose to be in my story. With this addition to my story, I feel that my film will send out a message to the audience about how a victim of rape/sexual abuse might feel and will also show what their mental state could be in at the time.
Also, after the main character wakes up she will have a message that was previously shown on her laptop that she sent to a sexual predator on the internet, they have responded to the message but instead of going ahead with her murder plan she instead closes the laptop screen signifying she is not going to do it. This shows that she is mentally stable and will not show any sign of mental illness in her.
