Digitial News Production (Workshop 1)

   In our first workshop for the news production unit we learned how to set up a news piece from the studio. We learned how to set up the camera and its positioning, as well as lighting and how the presenters should be shown. I feel that this workshop has helped me and my group gain an initial basic understanding of what we are supposed to produce for this unit. We now know how to create the studio set up section of our news production. The way we were shown today is a conventional way to set up the studio, but with modern day news productions there is more movement and different positioning of the presenters. But as we do not have the facilities or funds to create this we will most likely create a stationary shot.
