Commisions (Filming 1)

Last week we filmed our first interview for our documentary. It was an interview with one of our main characters Louise who has gone through the 'Young Lives Foundation' programme and is now a mentor for the programme. We chose to interview her as she is a hero story, after everything she has been through to being where she is today she seemed perfect for our documentary.
We decided to film the interview at her house in Strood, this location was chosen at it was easy for all parties to get to and also seeing Louise in her home will give more of an idea of who she is, this should get the audience to see what type of person she is more clearly; we also felt that it would be more comfortable for her to talk in a familiar surrounding.
The interview did go well, but I personally feel that it was not to the standard that it could have been at. We got a clear audio from Louise and we filmed some cutaway shots, but we did not get any noddy shots from her or any different angles of her talking. Hopefully this holds up as an interesting shot but I feel its something we can learn from for the rest of our interviews and overall we can create an up to high standard documentary.
