'The Journey' Ideas/Thoughts 3

I've been looking into the Sound Design project and looking at which of Gregory Crewdson's photographs I would like to use. I've looked at all of the photographs and have decided to make a soundtrack for 'Lady Crossing'. I have decided this as I see the most potential for this photograph, it is taken outside so I can have natural outside noises such as the wind and animal noises. I can have a journey of the lady travelling from the shop over the road, or I can have her coming from the liquor shop or I can have her coming from the house on the left that is just out from the photograph. I can also include lots of detail into this by the fact there are puddles on the floor, so I can include noises of the old lady walking through the puddle and the car driving off going through the puddle too.
This project will be challenging as I have to create a believable story, and also I do not have to have all the noises come from the photograph, I can have the journey start from off screen and come into the photograph one way or another. But at the moment it would seem fitting to have the photograph to be where the story ends. This in my opinion gets the audience member more involved into the story, this has been done effectively in films, television shows and even video games. This is used effectively on the television show 'NCIS' with the use of flash forwards. After each advert break that happens in the show, you see a flash forwards of a scene coming up on the episode. This gets the audience member immersed into the story by adding a sense of mystery to it. It makes the viewer think what going to happen next and sometimes in these shots, it makes the story look like it is going one way, yet it ends up turning out differently which is very effective in keeping the audiences' interest.
